Fifth Year Seniors

by Terry Broadwater

Picture

Here is a memory of mine (although I have many fond ones of the Bros at 36 Campus Dr.)

Back during the fall semester of 1962 Norm Lane, myself and Bob McNeal were roomies up on the top floor of the Pike house.  Norm and I were graduating seniors (fifth year I guess) and not required to attend Chapter meetings.

One night in late fall during a Chapter meeting, Norm and I came back from somewhere and remembered there was a Chapter meeting going on.  So we walked alongside the down-hill side of the house, made a little noise and pecked on a window.  All the brothers started shouting that someone was outside and started for the Pig Pen door and then on to the outside.  Norm and I relocated to the corner of the lattice under the porch next to the house and stood in the dark in the corner.  Out came all the guys – running out the Pig Pen door and out from under the porch – running up the sidewalk  toward Campus Dr.  No one saw us there is the dark (no night vision) and after the last brother ran by us Norm and I went into the Pig Pen laughing all the way up to our room.  I don’t think we ever told anyone that it was us.  Maybe some of you remember this.

Phi Phi KA,

Terry
