The Belmar Lot

 

When the property atop Fraternity row was acquired – with the help & guidance of Brother Mel Rexroad – a party was planned.  The location had been obtained in a swap for another site farther east – near the Delta Gamma house. News of the swap – and the associated feeling of stepping up the ladder – were generally unknown.

 

A Friday (I think) PM was chosen.  A large star was constructed and flares attached thereto.  I think “the bell” went along.  As some campus event tailed off a small group of brothers – some lubricated – arrived on newly acquired turf, set up & ignited the flares, rang the bell and basked in newfound status.
