My favorite memories are of Mom Henderson, what a lady! She always managed to get u dinner even though u missed it. She always managed to be a fourth for bridge when we needed one. And, her favorite saying when she left visit to her daughter when we had stag films was "Don't do anything you can't take a picture of." She sewed, she listened, she made sure that you felt at home, and she never had a bad thing to say about one brother. i miss her. She called me the day she died. i was the only brother to be her pallbearer.
The great bridge games we played and almost played out of school doing.
Dick McCreary said he wanted me in the fraternity because i played bridge and we did play a lot. Bob and Garen Simmons and Bill Ball were the regulars.
Bill Ball bumming cigarettes even though he had some in his pocket, and he always went down one trick on his bid. we still call him down one bill.
Our suicide card games all nite. We played for money and who will ever forget when Cliff Shane lost over 100 dollars. He is a minister now.
Our mother's day sing and who will ever forget how we joined with the alpha delta pis and sang together, and withdrew from the competition to do so.
And Tom Wetzel as pope as we buried our pet alligator that Ivan Bush had kept for us in his room along with the monkey, fish, frogs, rabbit, hamsters, bird, and any other animals that needed a home. The funeral procession with the alligator is on videotape. Who has it?
Our fights with kappa alpha over our bell we rang at football games. we did have fun with that, and they did give it back one football game.
How we went to see Jerry West and sat in the same section. The greatest college basketball player ever. we did have Lloyd Shearer and Rod Thorne as social members. They were great, too.
